Having lived in Wakefield for a good long time my first time around, I can honestly say, how the heck did I miss this place?
Bamboo House was a restaurant that from the outside (at least when I lived here before) looked very sketchy and suspect. I could never tell if they were open or if the restaurant closed down. It did not look in all that great of shape, it was in a plaza that I didn't trust at night, and I never saw people going in or out.
However, this time, I decided to try it, and I am glad that I did. I was shocked at the quality of the food despite the outside appearance of the restaurant. They actually had people inside and people taking orders out. Amazing. I ordered a standard combo, and they gave me a fairly good portion that was just enough to eat in one sitting. Everything was tasty, even the spareribs were yummy and done very well.
I was impressed, and still am today. The price is good, they are practically within walking distance to me, and when I want something quick, cheap, and close to home, they are my go-to.
Keep up the good work, Bamboo! -

I can honestly say that Bamboo House is the best all around Chinese food in town and by a good margin. Everything we select is always delicious and have not been let down with a single dish yet. You can tell that fresh, quality ingredients are used in their recipes. Try them out and you will not be disappointed.

I've been eating here occasionally over several years. Average food, nothing bad but nothing I'm excited about. I will say they have good prices and fast service.

Good food, low price, great service. If you're ever in Wakefield and need somewhere to get a quick bite this is your place.

Good price, clean restaurant, decent service.
Why two stars? The food.. All of the above are bonuses for a restaurant. The food isn't terrible but it is easy to tell why the prices are low. Just one big conglomerate of msg. Anyone who likes hot and sour soup knows that you can tell a Chinese place by the quality (not necessarily if you like it or not) and if it is basically jello it's a red flag.
